(13) Collaboration with Brazilian Federal Police
– This year's WIFS will have an interesting interaction between
Scientific Researchers and Forensics Experts from the Brazilian Federal
Police (DPF). DPF will present about 12 scientific challenges they face
in their operations regarding forensics and surveillance issues. The
presentations are part of WIFS normal program and will take place in all
the three days of the event.
In
addition, DPF will also hold a poster section with recent solved cases
and demos in which discussions can take place on other possible forms of
solving such cases. The poster section will take place during
coffee-breaks.
We will post a preliminary program in the website in the next couple of days. [September 27th]

Authors are invited to submit a concise description of new research
ideas and on-going projects, which are incomplete to warrant a full
paper but of interest to the general community, to the poster track of

committee worked very hard to compile a program consisting of
outstanding papers, resulting in a low acceptance rate of 32.5%. Please

assure a high quality conference, please take reviewers’ comments into

(4) Due to many requests, the WIFS'11 organization team has decided to postpone the submission deadline to July 1st, 2011. [June 17th]
(3) WIFS'11 organization team is proud to announce that this year WIFS will feature Student Best Paper Awards & Travel grants:
10 student papers will be granted awards. The top five will receive a
Gold paper award certificate, and another five will receive Silver
paper awards certificate.
Additionally,
one student author from each award paper will be offered a travel grant
to attend the conference (US$ 2,000 per Gold award papers, and US$
